About poolside
poolside is pursuing AGI. Only very few companies in the world are able to be in this race - we’re early in our journey which makes it a great time to join the team but we also have scale-up+ needs when it comes to product and engineering. We can tell you why over the phone...
About our team
We are a remote-first team that sits across Europe and North America. We come together once a month in-person for 3 days, always Monday-Wednesday. We also do longer off-sites twice a year.
Our team is a combination of more research and more engineering-oriented profiles, however, everyone deeply cares about the quality of the systems we build and has a strong underlying knowledge of software development. We believe that good engineering leads to faster development iterations, which allows us to compound our efforts.
About the role
This is a hands-on role where you'll work end-to-end to produce the highest quality datasets.
You'll have to build and operate tools and automation that will help you and your teammates to process, clean, filter, categorize, deduplicate, transform data and metadata from various sources and make it available for other teams to consume.
The datasets can be quite large and we need to move quickly, so it's very important to know how to process data at scale.
Your mission
To produce the best dataset to train our models.
Responsibilities
The quality of LLM models heavily depends on the data it's trained on.
Several other teams depend on the data in order to do their magic and you'll have to work closely with them and help them thrive. You'll be writing code and designing distributed systems. You'll be constantly balancing short term and long term priorities and you'll have to find pragmatic approaches to unblock other teams as the need arises.
